This heart is the best ever wall heart wood carving 50th Anniversary gift present idea. It is a wonderful gift for any occasion! I am Gary Burns the treewiz and I carved everything in my shop. I can personalize any of my hearts by inscribing a message on the back for no extra charge if it is something simple like a short sentence and date. I really love this wood! It looks as much like stone as it does wood! The hole adds an interesting detail to this heart.
It measures 16" tall x 8 1/2" wide x 2 1/4" thick. It comes ready to hang on the wall. This wood is very expensive and unusual. The piece of wood was $71.00 all by itself! A Buckeye heart is going to cost a bit more than a heart carved in another wood. I really love the colors of Buckeye when it has the blue in it like this. This is a pretty small heart for the cost but it is a very kool looking heart! So much character! There are many interesting features including bark pockets, great color and an interesting grain pattern.
I love the organic feel of the Buckeye pieces. These are really special pieces to me.

The colors in this wood are so warm and there is a lot of character to the color contrast. This is a Buckeye Burl.There is birds eye grain throughout the piece. It is a very rare wood. It grows in the foothills of the Sierra's in California. It grows in the Eastern US but this is a little bit more like a small bushy tree rather than a large trunked tree like in the East. And the one on the West Coast burls. It is a tricky tree to harvest because of the clay soil it grows in. When the soil is dry, it is harder than the wood. When the soil is wet, it is too slippery for the back hoe to get in and dig it out. Not only is it expensive and tricky to design but packing and shipping play a large part in the price as well.
This piece is flat on the back so it can hang on the wall. I have fastened a metal self leveling hanger on the back for hanging and it is signed Wiz on the back.
Hearts represent Love and Acceptance and these hearts. It would make an amazing gift for anyone or be a well deserved gift for oneself.

Care instructions
All of my carvings have a lacquer finish. Dusting with a feather duster or blowing off with a compressor is all that is necessary on the carved trees, fish and carved faces. I use Orange oil on the smooth surfaces. This will perk them up. I would do it as often as you polish your furniture. Once a month would keep them looking great but is not necessary.
When will I get my purchased carving?
I will contact you as soon as I get your order. I will package it that day or the next. I take it to the Post Office the next morning. If I get an order on Friday afternoon, Saturday or Sunday it will be in Monday mornings mail.
How will my carving be shipped?
I use Priority United States postal service mail.
Do you ship outside of the US?
I do ship outside of the US. I need to know the carving that you are interested in and your complete shipping address. I will figure what it costs to ship to your address and make the changes to the listing so that you can make the purchase.
